Painterly character work with hard, cinematic lighting. Most of what you’ll find here is Miguel O’Hara in the rain, Spider-Verse and Arcane pieces, and the sketches under them. Commissions run on a waitlist: message to join, no idea needed upfront.

Recent pieces have been viewed 40k+ times on X. Every commission is hand-painted.

Pricing

Every tier is a fully rendered, hand-painted piece in the style above. Prices in USD. Commercial means the art earns money for you: a product, game, promo or brand.

Currently working on: Miguel O’Hara commissions, Arcane-style animation frames, and splash art for a game client.

Terms

Joining the waitlist means you’ve read these. Questions are welcome before you pay.

Sounds fair, join the waitlist
Payment and prepayment
100% upfront via PayPal before I start. For high-value pieces we can split it 50/50: half to lock the slot and start, half before the final high-res file is delivered. Prices are in USD.
No refunds
Once payment is made and work has started there are no refunds. You approve a sketch before I render, so anything big gets caught at the stage where changes are easy and free.
Waitlist and slots
Commissions run through the waitlist only. You don’t need a finished idea to join. I open a limited number of slots per cycle (currently 5) and reach out in order when your turn is near. Your place is kept if you need to pass this cycle.
Patreon
Commissions may be shared on my Patreon as WIPs, process videos, PSDs and high-res files for patrons. If your piece needs to stay private (a gift, an unreleased project), say so when you book and it stays off Patreon and social media until you say otherwise.
Streaming (commercial)
Commercial clients can opt in to having the piece painted live on stream or recorded as a process video for your own launch. Personal commissions are streamed only with your explicit okay.
Usage rights
Personal tier: personal use only, such as profile pictures, prints for your wall, and sharing with credit. Commercial tier: use in your product, promo or brand as agreed in the brief. I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio unless we agree on privacy.
Revisions and turnaround
Minor tweaks at sketch stage are included. Major changes after rendering has started are billed as extra detailing. Turnaround depends on the queue; I’ll give you a realistic estimate when your slot opens.
What I need from you
Character references (or a description if it’s a new design), the mood or moment you want, the crop tier, and anything the art must include. If you want the lighting from a specific piece of mine, name it. The form has a field for that.

Original universe

Musha: White Shadow

A warrior in white. A world that only exists where the light fails. In Musha, light isn’t safety, it’s exposure, and every step between the two changes what you are. It’s a story about transformation, painted in the harshest chiaroscuro I can manage.

Monochrome study of a hooded figure holding a long curved blade, face half in shadow: the Shadow from Musha: White Shadow

The Shadow, value study.

The other half of the universe, designed in greys first. New pieces from the world go to X and Patreon before anywhere else.

Want an original character designed in this universe, or your own? The full-body tier gets you a design-sheet-ready character. Commission me.

About

I use the Loomis method and live for dramatic lighting.

I’m KKay, a concept artist and illustrator for games and film. I started drawing at age 10, fell hard for Spider-Verse’s colour and Arcane’s texture, and have been chasing the moment light hits a face ever since.

The process is simple and stubborn: Loomis construction, a strict value study, then colour over light. Round brush to find the drawing, flat brush to paint it. I split my time between client work, Musha: White Shadow, and full process videos for people who want to see every stroke.
